Allyson Felix
Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix, is a minister ordained at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a primary school teacher in Balboa Magnet. Felix demonstrated a talent for sports early, and discovered her talent for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first time she tried out the sport, she finished second in 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school signing a professional contract with the company that makes sports Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record of running the 200m in 22.18. She was the youngest to win the 200 meter at the World Championships that took place in Helsinki in the year 2005. She defended her title the following year, beating her the long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently at the top of the podium across her diverse races during the Olympics which took place during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
